"Kids, Success is a Decision"

"Dream of what you love. Love what you dream about and delight in the opportunity that this lifetime provides to chase those illusive goals."
Published in October of 2006, "Kids, Success is a Decision" is a very unique way to look at success principles. Bob believes that the greatest shortcoming in public education is that there are no state or national standards that students are required to master which deal with time tested and universally accepted success strategies. The self help industry is alive and well in America today fixing what the public schools failed to instill in their students. Reading, writing , history , science and math are successfully being taught to our children who graduate and then embark upon the world to discover success on their own. Many find it through trial and error, while countless others quit looking for success after failing a few times.

"Take every opportunity afforded to you to create something that reflects your talents and abilities. Leave a legacy!"
Each chapter in Bob's book addresses one of the "Twelve Simple Truths" that Bob has discovered just living life. He describes the truth then tells a short story about how he learned each lesson found in the book. It's kind of a combination, "how to book" and a collection of non-fictional short stories. Topics include; self-esteem, decision making, values, dreaming, goal setting, commitment, time management, educational importance, problem solving, relationship building, creativity and change.

"The greatest miracle in the world is you!"

What People are Saying About Bob's Book?

"Bob; I'm giving serious consideration to forming a group of students to meet regularly to discuss your book. I liked the discussion of the balance between the physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of life. Any part in disproportion will affect the whole being. I have asked our librarian to order ten copies and hope to start a group soon. More importantly, I would like three more copies for my three adult children."
Rick Johnson, Assistant principal, Augusta Middle School, Augusta, Kansas

"Mr. Owen's book includes lessons on "The Twelve Simple Truths". While I have only had the chance to read about half of this 120 page book I plan to finish it. It is definitely a worthwhile book. We as parents, often leave our children's education to schools. There is so much more to life than reading, writing and arithmetic. Many of the very things we need to succeed in life we learn along the way. This book is a shortcut to that information."
The Deckerville Recorder Dec.8th, 2005

"Hi Bob, I thoroughly enjoyed your book and found it to be easy to read, informative and inspirational. I especially liked hearing your personal stories. It made everything you talked about so real. It is all so 'common sense'. I only wish all children could learn your twelve simple truths early in their lives. Maybe we could avoid a lot of problems we have today with our youth and their upbringing. I will pass it along to our children and I know they will find it helpful in motivating our grandchildren."
